AU to launch first Day of Generosity
March 25, 2025

Aurora University will celebrate its first-ever Day of Generosity, a 24-hour period dedicated to the spirit of giving.
Day of Generosity is set for Friday, April 4, and will be preceded by several pop-up events earlier in the week focused on the power of giving. Activities include packing lunches for Hesed House, assembling blankets to donate to World Relief and Oaken Acres Wildlife Center, and a kickoff breakfast.
The launch event for the 24-hour giving period is a concert by the critically acclaimed Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea, who will perform at Crimi Auditorium on Thursday, April 3.
“Generosity is a powerful way to pay it forward, helping everyone pursue their dreams,” said AU President Susana Rivera-Mills. “Each moment is an opportunity to show how much we care for our community.”
On this special day, all Spartans are invited to come together—students, alumni, faculty, students, staff, and friends—and show their Spartan pride. The initiative aims to empower students, foster innovation, and build a stronger community.
“Generosity at AU isn’t just about giving,” added Mason Brauer ’24. “It’s about showing up for each other. It’s about those who make a difference with a kind word, a helping hand, or a moment of understanding.”
